The Whosoevers part one

Each generation a recurring problem keeps coming up and it seems to be getting worse with every new generation. This problem is the pandemic of depression, self harm, suicide, drug abuse and alcoholism. Due to the isolation that came with the lockdowns of Covid we see a pandemic arise that is arguably more dangerous and destructive. To combat the rise in these issues a group based in LA called the Whosoevers are running a movement called kill the noise. Ryan Reese the founder of this group has a history of depression, self harm, drug abuse and suicidal tendencies. He and his group go around America to reach the next generation to help them overcome and find the hope he himself found in Jesus. Now Ryan Reese and his group are coming all the way to us in the Philippines to reach the middle and high schools and the colleges in our area. The Whosoevers are a Christian rock band as well as professional skateboarders; they will use the two attractions to gain the attention of the youth and then give a presentation, giving his testimony and sharing the hope in Christ. After the presentation we will give a time for counseling and leading the children the Christ as well as baptisms.

Our target age group is high school and college. Because we can't just walk in and give a presentation we have been speaking with the president of the local high school and college. Our original plan was to gather all the students on a lunch break to give the presentation but we needed the permission of the mayor of Tagaytay to do so. The mayor has been out of town during this time and we couldn't get permission so we changed our plans to advertise in the college and high school for an event at the local skatepark and we will gather all the kids on a Saturday. Just the one school alone has 7000 students and we will be advertising in four to five other schools: we are hoping for as many as possible.

Unfortunately we didn't get the permission from the mayor to present in the schools of Tagaytay, however we did get permission in the next town over, Talisay, to go to each of the schools for our presentation. This will include 5-6 schools and around 5000 students. The mayor has pretty much given us free reign for our event in the public high schools. This will be the biggest event so far for the church here in Tagaytay and hopefully we see an insane amount of kids accept Christ during this.

We are also hoping that if we have time we can also take the Whosoevers to the island of Marikaban where we went to set up a medical mission: This is the island where the is no Christian church. We plan to do the same presentation there as with the schools here and be the Christian influence that is missing on the island. With the help of a couple donators I will be able to provide a roll of pvc which will be able to get us onto the island as per the deal with the barangay captain. The more rolls we can provide the more chances we have to go to the island to give Gods word. The end goal for this island right now is to start a home Bible study and raise up Christians to keep it going. Thank you everyone for your support and prayers, there will be another update on this when the event happens March 30-April 1.

Prayer requests and ways to support

As we continue through the school year more opportunities come up more ministry which puts more on our plates. i believe we could all use prayer for help in these new ministries and that we continue to keep our eyes on God and not try to do it all ourselves.

Recently we have had contact from several people that they would like to come as students to the bible college. pray that God would open the door for each of these people so that they could come and spend a year in Gods word with us and learn what it is like to live a life of ministry.
